Speaker 1:

Wasteland Party. Heyo, it's me again. I hope everyone's been doing okay. I know I haven't been on here for a while and I haven't made an episode in a long time. If I look closely it's been about three months. I'm really sorry about that.

Speaker 1:

It's just work and this recession that is in this timeline like it's ridiculous. Out of all places to be stuck in, it had to be the one where you're in a what capitalist utopia I don't even know what to call it. I work and I work and it doesn't seem like I'm getting any free time at all to be able to at least do episodes for my host. If you guys don't remember from last time, the wasteland that you're hearing is a new person from a different dimension world. Whatever you want to call it, I do have a name. But to save my host a little bit of effort if he ever does get to wake up from whatever slumber he's in, because I seem to be in control of the mind right now and I don't think it works like a split personality thing. There's just so many variables and so many things that could possibly be going on. It could be possible that he was also a timeline jumper and he was able to jump his mind out of this dimension and now I'm taking up his space in his mind. I know it's just really complicated, but the thing is like I said before. I'm stuck here and I am making the most of it. I'm working my ass off. I've been working six days a week. I've done everything I can to ensure that my host still has a house, a home, someplace he can lay his head in or relax in, if he ever does come back or I don't know, because the possibilities are endless. But one thing I try to do, even though I do jump from world to world, is the mind that is currently my host. I'll do whatever I can to not only maintain their life or their lifestyles, but to try to improve upon them. That's why I'm doing this podcast, so I can possibly have him wake up tomorrow in this body and he'll have 100 followers and he'll be happy with that. It's a small thing that I could have done.

Speaker 1:

While I was here eating his food, breathing his air, playing his video games, watching his movies I've been a little stressed out, pretty stressed out. It's very tough living here. Like I said before, I work my ass off and when I get home I barely have enough time to do anything and I go straight to sleep. But one thing that has kept me going has been my host's really nice collection of video games and movies. He seems to be very avid with the retro ones, but he has a lot of new games too. He likes buying the discs and it's funny because I haven't been to a dimension with discs in a while. They usually stick to cartridges because it's a more protected, safe state with internal safe states. But that's, I'm getting off topic.

Speaker 1:

So the thing is I got really upset recently. Things were going okay, I would go home, I'd pop open the big box of old cartridges and controllers and I would just go crazy with all the awesome little collectibles that my host has. And I came across a copy of Super Smash Bros. And now this Super Smash Bros the cover art actually looks better than the one I remember. The one I remember just had the same sort of the start screen from the Super Smash Bros on the N64. It was just transcribed onto the, the cartridge itself, but that's just a small cosmetic thing.

Speaker 1:

The thing that was odd was that your Super Smash Brothers only had about eight starting characters. That included Mario, donkey Kong, link Samus, pikachu, fox, mccloud, kirby and Yoshi and you can only unlock four characters, which was, of course, luigi Ness even though Earthbound wasn't that big here in America and your time and your timeline, sorry, still not used to that Captain Falcon and Jigglypuff. Now, this is very odd. So I don't know if you guys remember I told you in my original timeline not the ones that I skip around in my original one it was a very progressive one where gaming was fundamental. We didn't have, like the way you guys have, the NFL and an NHL and all these very big league sports. For us they were called games. We didn't use the word sports, games were just games. And when games got on the digital level and you started having games that you could have at home just moving your fingers, that blew up like I don't know why. I never blew up here, but it blew up in my timeline, from something small like the Atari and the Colecovision to VR. From the last time I left my timeline we had VR tournaments that were grand, they were extravagant, they were crazy like I couldn't even begin to explain to you the setup that they had for those giant VR tournaments, but I guess I'll save that for another segment, that's you want to call it. I think I'll make segments now I'll make it a thing. But back to what I was talking about.

Speaker 1:

So your Super Smash Brothers, it seems like it was ambitious for its time. It did what it did. It was great. But the one I played was ahead of its time. Obviously, intellectual properties, copyrights, you know, these things were a little bit more what's the word I'm looking for? Liberal In my timeline, the form of capitalism you guys have here, at least in America, because that's the America.

Speaker 1:

My place was called America too, weirdly enough. But there's so very little cooperation done to benefit both companies. It's really weird. It's like you guys here, go no, my money, my stuff, go away, unless one of them can rip the other one off somehow. It's crazy. Yeah, by the time Super Smash Bros had come out in my timeline, everybody wanted a piece of Nintendo.

Speaker 1:

Nintendo was I don't even know what to call. It was in the stratosphere compared to other developers and other publishers and other video game manufacturers. They had a roster with unlocked characters of, if I remember correctly, 30 characters. Now, that's a big difference. And it ran the same. It ran really well. It included Dr Mario besides the original, the ones that you guys know Dr Mario, young Link from Majora's Mask, king Dedede, marina from Mischief Makers.

Speaker 1:

Goaman from Mystical Ninja talk about a crossover Wario Lucas, bowser, wolf from Star Fox, conker, mewtwo, marth Falco, ganondorf, sonic and Metal Sonic as a skin. They were really into skins early in the day and I'm really glad they were, because people love cosmetics. They always have, they always will, whether it's clothing or video games. But Sheik is also a character, and so is Banjo, so I also forgot Diddy Kong. So these 30 characters were in the first Smash and this blew people's minds. So it started this trend of wanting to just copy everything Nintendo did, like the way they are now, at least from what I've seen. They were a trendsetter that made everyone want to emulate them, because they were always the first ones to do something different and everyone just copied them afterwards. Now, what was great about this was that it sparked a new way of gameplay.

Speaker 1:

So what I'm going to talk about in a bit is very long and it's very winded and it's a lot of information. So I'm going to just split this into another part, a and B and I'll just go ahead and end it right now, since I've hit my 10 minute mark and, like I said, I'm going to try my absolute best to upload as often as I can and give new episodes once a week at least and then increase from there. I got to find some sort of balance, but I won't end it with any of the whole classic. Oh, here are my socials. Blah, blah, blah. You guys know how the internet works. You guys know how to look for my socials Literally my name. Yes, it's misspelled, but just letting you know. You can contact me by just commenting and I will see it. I love interacting with people and I hope to interact with you too. So I'm going to go ahead and end this. You all have a good one and remember there's always something better, as long as someone can conceive it. Bye, everybody.
